Visit the main square , where you'll find the Monument to Music and, on one of its corners, the Parish of Saint Peter the Apostle. There's also a lovely little sign for photos that perfectly reflects the musical identity of this place.
Around you can find some murals, and the House of Culture (Currently under renovation - June 2024)
You can also visit the Santa Cecilia Music House or Musical Institution, founded in 1952. If you're lucky, you might catch a rehearsal of the Santa Cecilia Band. Or you could plan a visit to this municipality for the "Mario Lopeda" National Municipal Band Music Competition.
Its streets are wide and quiet, and its gastronomy is very traditional; you'll find everything from handmade arepas to delicious ice cream and fruit salads.
Explore his Musical Legacy
This municipality boasts a rich musical history and a significant legacy, most notably with the Santa Cecilia Band , which honors the patron saint of musicians and has won numerous national awards. Since 1934, they have undoubtedly been an essential part of the local culture, keeping traditions alive and promoting values among young people.
Every Friday, the Santa Cecilia Band holds its rehearsals at the music center, which is always open to the public. First, the youth band rehearses, followed by the main band. It's wonderful to see people of all ages involved in these cultural activities!
The "Mario Lopeda" National Municipal Band Music Competition is held annually .

Concurso Nacional de música inedita para bandas mario lopeda
The competition is named after the renowned Colombian musician and composer Luis Mario Lopeda, who dedicated a large part of his life to band music; his legacy includes the composition of the required piece for this competition.
This event offers a wide variety of recreational and cultural activities , including contests and performances by artists from diverse musical genres. It attracts numerous tourists who visit the municipality to enjoy the festival.

During our visit to San Pedro, we found Natufibras and learned a lot about the fascinating journey of the coconut, an essential ingredient in our productive sectors.
Here, waste is transformed into treasures and coconut inspires an eco-friendly future. These experiences are completely new in our region, and we can support local production in an educational way, and of course you can also buy products to take home.
It's a perfect experience to do with family or friends.

Cómo llegar a San pedro?
from Cali
from Cali
By private vehicle: Take the road to Rozo or El Cerrito, and continue towards Buga or Tuluá. Just follow the signs; you'll find 3 tolls going and 3 coming back, approximately $11,000 each. NOTE: There are speed cameras on this road.
By public transport: From the Cali bus terminal, take a bus towards Tuluá and let the driver know you want to get off in San Pedro. The fare is approximately $25,000 COP each way.
